Transport for NSW has recently announced that important works are set to start at Wentworth Falls Station.
The significant works will take place on Saturday 27th August- Sunday 28th August. A spokesperson said that these works include “platform resurfacing, installation roof sheeting to the walkway, and footpath and service work in the Railway Parade and Station Street car parks.”
Due to the nature of the works, the station will be closed down to ensure the safety of potential passengers and workers.
As part of the upgrade, there will be 3 new lifts for customers to use, some brand new forecourt areas, weather protection canopies , and the establishment of a ‘kiss and ride’ area. Some existing facilities will also be improved, such as accessible toilets.
‘Kiss and ride’ areas are designated zones where those in vehicles can quickly drop off or pick up friends, family or colleagues. Vehicle operators are not permitted to leave their vehicle, and are allowed in the zone for a maximum of 2 minutes. This is to ensure a safe drop off for everyone.
It is hoped that the upgrades will help provide customers with a much better experience whilst helping to cater for expected future growth demands.
The upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program, a program designed to deliver modern and accessible transport facilities and infrastructure.
