The New South Wales government has announced the completion of major upgrades to Meadowbank Wharf.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Andrew Constance, said the upgrades would greatly benefit customers.
“This upgrade will deliver a significant boost for the Meadowbank community, with the improvements designed to provide a better customer experience and increase capacity for future growth in the region,” Constance said.
The upgrades will provide easier access to the wharf, better weather protection, as well as improved safety features for commuters.
The work was delivered as part of the NSW government’s Transport Access Program, launched in 2012.
The Transport Access Program aims to deliver accessible, modern and integrated transport infrastructure solutions for the state.
Member for Ryde, Victor Dominello, said Parramatta River ferry services had resumed services this morning.
“Travelling by ferry on Sydney Harbour is not only a commuter journey to and from work, but a great tourist attraction. Upgrades such as these at Meadowbank are important in ensuring this mode of transport remains safe, modern and easy for people to access,” Dominello said.
The Transport Access Program has helped deliver more than 450 projects within the state.
