Work is progressing on the Kangaroo Valley Road bridge as part of the $580 million Foxground and Berry bypass upgrade.
Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward, said that nearly 20 hours of continuous concrete will be poured on February 11, weather permitting.
“The new Kangaroo Valley Road bridge is a key component of the 12.5 kilometre Princes Highway upgrade from Toolijooa Road to just south of Andersons Lane,” Ward said.
“A continuous concrete pour will start at 6pm on Thursday evening and continue well into Friday to form the bridge structure.”
More than 1,100 cubic metres of concrete will be allocated over the 20 hour period, with changes to traffic conditions to accommodate for the works.
The bridge is expected to be 19 metres wide and 50 metres long, with two lanes of traffic once complete.
“The next stage of work after the concrete pour involves building the shared cycle and pedestrian paths, installing safety barriers and completing the bridge approaches,” he said.
“Additional traffic changes will be in place from this Friday 12th February on Woodhill Mountain Road for work on Berry Bridge.”
Motorists in the area are encouraged to slow down during the works.
