65 new car spaces are now available to Blacktown station commuters following months of construction.
Member for Seven Hills, Mark Taylor, announced the new car park which aims to improve access to train services along the T1 Western Line.
“More than 16,000 train customers come to Blacktown station every day to get to work, study or travel for leisure, we’re committed to making life easier for all customers and giving them a better journey on our network,” Taylor said.
“Today’s announcement will open up 65 car spaces for customers, which up until recently were locked up for rail staff use.”
The upgrade also features improved lighting, new CCTV cameras, as well as better fencing to enhance customer safety.
The project forms part of upgrades at more than 90 locations across the state, creating 1100 extra spaces for the public.
The newly reformed car spaces are in addition to the 48 spaces that were converted at Blacktown Station earlier this year.
The NSW Government’s Transport Access Program is an initiative to deliver accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure.
