Old Wallgrove Road weekend infrastructure upgrades

State Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies, has advised local residents and commuters of coming roadworks this weekend to install a new water main system.

Work to employ the new water main system will be carried out this weekend between 7am and 5pm each day.

The NSW Government has provided $95 million to fund the Old Wallgrove Road upgrade at Eastern Creek, as well as plans to widen the road to support addition lanes and increase car capacity.

“I wish to thank the community in advance for their patience while this essential work is carried out,” said Davies.

Electronic signage will be used to guide traffic and ensure safety. Extra time should be allowed for travel with delays likely in the region.

The project also hopes to build a new four lane link road between Quarry Road and Wallgrove Road, as well as on and off ramps linking to the M7 motorway.

It is expected that the upgrades will improve traffic flow and link the area to future employment growth areas.

“Work on the Old Wallgrove Road upgrade started last year and is expected to be completed in 2017,” said Davies.
