$10 Million Bankstown Station upgrade begins

Bankstown Station customers will benefit from new stairs, accessibility ramps, ticket barriers, extra CCTV facilities and a general refresh of the station. The upgrade will also include a new covered station concourse, providing weather protection for customers moving through the station and to the bus interchange.

The upgrades are expected to be completed in 2015.

Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian said the Bankstown Station upgrade is just one of a number of projects being delivered for customers as part of the Transport Access Program.

“Bankstown Station is also set to benefit from the Government’s Sydney’s Rapid Transit network which will run to Bankstown, providing automated, fast and frequent rapid transit services”, Ms Berejiklian said.
